If you think you have an emergency, big or small, please CALL 911 now! Do not call our station directly.
PUBLIC NOTICE (April 21, 2020): NO BURN PERMITS WILL BE ISSUED IN ESSEX UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. That means no outside burning of leaves, grass, braches, trees, or any other yard debris. This prohibition on burning is due to the current dry weather conditions, as well as to limit, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the related face-to-face contact that can happen when people who burn need to call the Fire Department if burning gets out of hand.
This prohibition on burning does NOT apply to small backyard fire rings or small personal cooking fires so long as you are burning only clean dry wood. No debris, leaves, etc.
We thank you for your understanding and compliance, and for sharing this message to your fellow Essex residents. Questions can be directed to Chief Cole at email@example.com
